It was a very warm afternoon and we moved around to various viewing stands.  Great fun and one of the must do events.

March 15th, 2015 - back from Daytona Beach

It was a great trip with good weather through out!  The trip home took 12 hours due to  tractor trailer wrecks and I stopped to help out a motorcyclist off the road.  He was wandering around on the exit ramp at Charleston, SC looking for something.  Turns out his GoPro popped off his head at 70 mph and shattered into a million pieces.  What he was looking for was the memory chip with all his pictures.  Wow, how to blow a quick $400 plus $50 for the chip.  I wished him well and was off to wait in line with all the trucks.  It was a great time in Daytona Beach.  Tom and I wandered all around and Lucy joined us for two days.  This is the first time i have seen the Daytona 200 motorcycle race.  You get to drive under the stadium and track into the infield to sit in the bleachers around the various turns.  It was warm but manageable.  Great trip.  

March 9, 2015 - I am off to Daytona Beach for Bike Week!

Like most of my trips there are faster routes to follow to get there but it is about the ride that matters! I am cutting across SC to the lower corner of GA to meet up with a friend coming down from Atlanta, GA.  Then on the 10th we will take a nice ride into New Smyrna Beach for our 5 days at Bike Week.  Long range weather is for rain everyday but it seems to be getting better as we get closer.  Checked out the bike yesterday and it is a good thing, the headlight was out so I replaced it.  Now to get the gear together.
