Like Jones Lake, this is a Carolina Bay.  Shallow with lost of surrounding vegetation. It looks and feels just like the other Carolina Bays the only difference is the size.  This park differs from Jones in that it has sizable cabins for group camping.  One section is open year-round.  Most of the trails are short and the camping section is only accessible via the trail system.  The far side of the bay has a sizable commercial RV/Camp business.  The views are beautiful.  This is a good overnight camping location and you can see most of the park in a day.
