The road to Portland was uneventful with mid-80’s temperatures and good roads. Our first stop was St. Regis, MT about 160 miles and an easy ride. The town or village or crossroads at St. Regis had a Super 8, a grocery store, a restaurant and a couple of gas stations. The good news was the restaurant fixed a good meal for Pattie, addressing all her allergies. It seems this town is a hot spot for trout fishing. I was shocked at the price of a room. We had a good night and were off the next morning to Spokane, WA.
