I left Tom and Lucy’s around 10:00 expecting a difficult I85 to I20 7 mile ride. Atlanta was quite a race through town. How glad I was getting to I20. From there it was smooth sailing but rough all the way to Shreveport. I think the LA politicians must have taken the Federal money for the interstate and spent it somewhere else. What a horrible road going into Shreveport. The road was like constant speed bumps. It jarred the brake light bar off the back of the bike, left hanging by the electrical cord. The approach to Shreveport had a huge sign for all commercial vehicles to detour off I20. The road then narrowed to something less than a normal lane for 10 or 15 miles over the bridges. The week before a tractor trailer decided to try and go through and got wedged in between the concrete barriers. I was looking for a familiar hotel name and saw the Clarion which looked new. It was a great find for $83 and then I needed to find the Honda Dealer to fix the damaged brake light. A storm was due in an hour and I hustled around town and found C & G Honda. They fixed it quickly and didn’t charge me. I returned quickly to the hotel and asked about local restaurants. The clerk said the closest was 20 minutes away but the chicken across at the Chevron was good. Christy Chicken at the Chevron was very good. My hats off to the Clarion…best mattress I have ever slept on when traveling. The morning would be early due to heat 91 degrees going into Dallas. I left at 7 am.
