Again a non-event day. Clear, temperatures in the mid-80’s. I took I40 West out past Canton then went by Bryson City and Franklin. Nice wide twisty 4 lane that eventually narrowed down to 2 lane with major construction. This probably added 30 minutes to the trip but wasn’t a total pain. 3 1/2 hours and 180 miles later I was at Tom and Lucy’s for another overnight. The start of this trip is a bit slow but it is a nice buildup to the longer miles when I get to Texas. The mountains were pretty and offered many different scenic views. I arrived around 3. Tom and Lucy took me to the Colonnade Restaurant, around since 1927 and used as a setting for a number of movies. Fried Oysters….great food. With a night cape and off to bed.
