I have been leaving the hotels at around 7 am and enjoyed the early hours with temperatures in the 70-80 range. Good riding weather and planning to do 400 today and end up in Santa Rosa, NM on Rt. 66. I keep hearing about the storms in the mid-west but I have been dry all the way out except for the 90 seconds in Dallas. The scenery has been very much the same throughout the trip in TX with Wind Turbines all over the place or solar farms. I question why anyone would live out here. I am starting to hear of heat problems in AZ. Still enjoying the ride and finding that the truckers really look out for bikes. I have pretty consistently run around 78 mph and am passed with cars going 80-85 with posted speed of 75. Drinking huge amounts of water and Gatorade.
Arrived at Santa Rosa, NM at around 2 pm. 400 miles today.
